for Outstanding Achievement in Technology and Business

McLean (VA) -- The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE), a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing STEM excellence through national and international programs for students and teachers, will host its Annual Congressional Luncheon, sponsored by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Russell Senate Office Building, Kennedy Caucus Room/SR-325, in Washington, D.C. Attendees will include leaders from business, education, government, and program alumni.

CEE’s Joseph I. Lieberman Award for Lieberman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Technology and Business will be presented by Senator Joseph Lieberman, Trustee to CEE for 17 years, to Ben Silbermann, an alumnus of the Research Science Institute, Pinterest Co-Founder and CEO. While in high school, Silbermann attended CEE’s Research Science Institute (RSI) six-week summer program at MIT. The Lieberman Award includes a $10,000 stipend from CEE. The award acknowledges Silbermann's significant business & technology accomplishments and recognizes Senator Lieberman's longtime support as a CEE Trustee.

CEE’s annual luncheon celebrates the 36 years of success by its impactful STEM education programs: the Research Science Institute (RSI) at MIT, USA Biolympiad and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP).
