CEE to Host Webinar on STEM in Aerodynamics

McLean, Va. (September 7, 2023) – The Center for Excellence in Education’s (CEE) Teacher Enrichment Program presents a cost-free online seminar about the aerodynamics field. It takes place on Thursday, September 14, 2023, 5:30-6:30 p.m. ET via Zoom. Register online.

Distinguished speakers:

Kayann Barnswell is a Senior Staff Engineering Project Manager at Lockheed Martin. In this role she oversees technical, cost, and schedule performance for significant portions of the engineering work scope supporting the Naval Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (N-MRO) program. She has served in technical and leadership roles throughout her career and has experience as a systems engineer, leading teams to deliver military training products. Kayann earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology.

Savannah Horton is a Manager of Strategic Initiatives at the Aerospace Industries Association. In her role, she supports the organization’s outreach strategy with AIA’s member companies and broader advocacy efforts. Prior to AIA, she was a Summer Fellow at Zeno Power through the Zed Factor Fellowship. Savannah graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a BA in Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law where she also majored in Government and minored in Astronomy. Savannah is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. 

CEE’s Teacher Enrichment Program provides unique STEM opportunities for high school teachers and their students. All TEP resources and professional development events are cost-free to participants. To date, more than 4,000 teachers from over 1,400 schools have participated. The program has reached nearly 600,000 underserved rural and urban students to encourage STEM careers.
