5 Alumni of the Center for Excellence in Education’s Programs Named as Regional Finalists in the Prestigious Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology

McLean, Virginia - November 01, 2010 - The Center for Excellence in Education proudly announces that a total of 16 alumni from its Research Science Institute (RSI) and USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) programs have been named by the Siemens Foundation as Semifinalists and Regional Finalists in the 2010 Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology.

The Siemens Competition represents a pinnacle of achievement in science and technology for high school students. It is administered by the College Board and is a signature program of the Siemens Foundation.

With only 46 U.S. students selected to attend the Research Science Institute (RSI) in 2010, the Siemens Regional Finalists/Semi-Finalists represent an impressive 30 % of the RSI 2010 class.

The RSI 2010 alumni selected as Regional Finalists in the Siemens Competition are:

An outstanding 10% of the 2010 USA Biology Olympiad National finalists were selected as Regional Finalists.

The announcement of the National Finalists in the Siemens Competition will be made on December 6, 2010.
