McLean, Va., June 27, 2024 – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) has been named a “2024 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading website for community recommendations of charities and nonprofits.

The Center is world-renowned for its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education programs that inspire students to pursue and then excel in STEM careers.

“We are honored to be named a 2024 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” said Joann P. DiGennaro, President of the Center. “We are immensely proud of our accomplishments this year, including hosting the forty-first Research Science Institute in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, hosting the 2024 USA Biolympiad National Finals on Marymount University’s Arlington, Virginia, campus, connecting teachers to industry through CEE’s Teacher Enrichment Program, and engaging rural and urban high school students through STEM Lyceums. All these activities were offered cost-free to participants thanks to the ongoing support of donors.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that CEE received from volunteers, donors, and aid recipients. “CEE is an amazing organization which provided me with life-changing educational opportunities,” wrote an alum in an online review. This recognition coincides with the convening of CEE’s 2024 Alumni Committee, which is planning CEE’s 2024 Annual Fund drive to support the Center’s programs. All contributions to CEE’s campaign will advance the Center’s vital STEM education mission. CEE program alumni, parents, friends of the Center,  and all supporters of STEM education are encouraged to participate by contributing at www.CEE.org/donateCharitable contributions to the Center are tax-deductible. In addition to the top rating from GreatNonprofits, the Center is a GuideStar Platinum charity.

“The Center for Excellence in Education is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “Its award is well-deserved recognition not only of its work, but the tremendous support it receives, as shown by the many outstanding reviews it has received.”

GreatNonprofits is the largest donation website for nonprofits and where people share stories about their firsthand experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofits. The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, volunteers, and recipients of aid.
